PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday told House that the inquiry is on into the complaint filed against cops including DySP for allegedly mercilessly beating up a young boy for breaking the signal.
Sawant said that police are currently checking the CCTV footage at the site.
During the Zero Hour, Independent MLA Chandrakant Shetye sought Chief Minister’s intervention in the incident which took place at Porvorim junction when the police personnel assaulted a 25-year-old boy.
The incident occurred on July 12 when the victim identified as Siddhant Raul, son of senior photojournalist Tulshidas Raul of the Tarun Bharat Marathi daily, was returning to Panjim from Mapusa. He had jumped the red light in the midst of heavy rainfall near the First Cry showroom after Damian de Goa.
