PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has warned of strict action against the tourists indulge in breaking laws.
The statement comes after a video of tourists from Punjab, riding two-wheelers in the sea water, at Nerul beach, went viral. The tourists are been booked by Porvorim police for negligence.
Responding to the same, Sawant said that government has been repeatedly warning tourists to follow the law of the State.
“We want the tourists entering Goa to follow the law. Whatever restrictions and rules are in place needs to be followed. We have been requesting the tourists. If violation continues, we might have to take some strict action,” said Sawant.
Sawant also directed the lifeguards and tourist police to take necessary action against the erring tourists.
The beaches are crowded with domestic tourists, as State opens up for tourism activities.
