CUNCOLIM: Cuncolim Municipal Council (CMC) chairperson Succorina Coutinho tendered her resignation after serving for three months.
CMC sources informed that there was an understanding between the members of ruling group to share the chairperson’s post among all five women councillors.
The ruling group has decided to elect Polita Carneiro as the next chairperson.
During this term, the CMC witnessed eight chairpersons. Polita, who had served as the chairperson twice, will be the ninth chairperson during this term.
Of the 12 members, CMC has six women councillors and it’s a fact that all six were elected as chairperson earlier.
