PANJIM: The deadline given by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to all PWD road contractors to remove all potholes from the roads across Goa came to an end on Sunday wherein the PWD officials claimed that all the potholes have been repaired.

An inspection by the PWD officials to check the potholes repair work will be held on Monday (November 1). The officials said that action will be taken against any contractor who failed to comply with directions issued.

Over the last few weeks, patchwork has been put on roads to cover the potholes as a temporary measure.

It may be recalled that the CM had on multiple occasions, at public functions, given fiery speeches where he assured Goans that on November 1, there would be no potholes on the roads.

PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar had blamed the heavy rainfall and shortage of resources and personnel for the delays in completing road related works in the State.

Incidentally, the Union Minister of Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari is visiting Goa on Monday and will be reviewing all the progress of all under-construction highway development works on Tuesday.
