Colva urges for 24-hr health centre

MARGAO, APRIL 21 A delegation comprising of Colva Panchayat members and citizens called on the Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat and requested for the setting up of a 24-hour modern health centre at Colva under the NRI Commissioner scheme.

A delegation comprising of Colva Panchayat members and citizens called on the Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat and requested for the setting up of a 24-hour modern health centre at Colva under the NRI Commissioner scheme.
The delegation impressed on the Chief Minister the need to set up the round-the-clock health facility in Colva in the absence of any medical practitioner in the village after sun set.
The Committee members requested the Chief Minister to acquire the vacant land admeasuring 600 square meters from the Tourism department next to the existing Power department office.
The Chief Minister was further requested to obtain the necessary clearance for the project from the Health Minister on priority basis.
The Committee was constituted at the last gram sabha meeting to pursue the setting up of the health centre under NRI Commissioner scheme (Development of your own village) initiated by the Colva United Centre, Kuwait.
A member of the Colva United Centre, Alexander Fernandes said the Chief Minister has evinced keen interest in the project and has assured to put the project in operation.
Members of the five member committee comprises of Sarpanch Angela Borges, Alexander Fernandes, representing Colva United Centre, Kuwait, Jose Fernandes (Panch), Jovel Cardoz and Menino Fernandes.
