Colvale Jail Raid: Mobile Seized After Inmate’s Video Death Threat

Authorities raided Colvale Central Jail after an inmate allegedly conducted a video call to an individual outside, displaying a knife and threatening to kill him. The operation, led by Colvale Police Inspector Sanjit Kandolkar alongside his team and Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) personnel, resulted in the recovery of one mobile phone. However, officers did not locate any knife during the search. Police confirmed that further investigation into the incident is currently underway, noting that illicit mobile phones have also been seized during previous searches at the facility.
