MAPUSA: Colvale Panchayat has requested the Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte inspect all the illegal scrap yards located in the village.
Colvale panchas claimed that there are no illegalities on the Colvale comunidade land and alleged that MLA Nilkanth Halarnkar is making allegations against the panchayat since he was not given plots on comunidade land.
The panchas charged that since the last 30 years the MLA had his panels were ruling the panchayats in Tivim constituency jurisdiction and now since has his panel ruling in only one panchayat he is frustrated.
They further alleged that in these 30 years, Halarnkar encouraged and allowed illegal scrap yards in Colvale and added that they were fighting to get rid of these scrap yards since 2006.
