A tense situation unfolded at the Aquem side of the railway station after two migrant labourers allegedly assaulted another migrant worker, leading to a commotion in the area.
According to sources, a Goa Police constable who noticed the incident immediately rushed to the spot and intervened in an attempt to separate those involved in the fight.

During the intervention, an unidentified individual, reportedly not in police uniform and allegedly under the influence of alcohol, allegedly came forward in support of the migrant workers involved in the altercation and manhandled the on-duty police constable.
The situation was later brought under control. Further details regarding the identity of the persons involved and any action taken by the police are awaited.
