Commuters fear travelling on Ponda roads as sewage chambers cave in

PONDA: Commuters are on tenterhooks while travelling on Ponda roads since some sewage chambers have caved in due to the heavy rain. The sewage treatment plant has not yet started but at some places sewage chambers are overflows with rain water, flooding the road and causing obstruction to the smooth flow of traffic.

Locals blamed the sub standard work done by the contractor saying, that even before the sewerage treatment plant starts its operation, the sewage chambers are overflowing. The locals are worried to imagine the situation after the sewage plant starts operations.

Bandora locals accused the contractor of not paying proper attention to covering the chambers due to which the covers have caved in, posing risk to commuters.

Social worker Sandeep Parkar brought to notice of authorities about the sewage chamber overflowing with rain water at Khandepar, causing obstruction to traffic. He urged the authorities to take quick safety measures.
