PANJIM: Rao Brothers from Mapusa has filed a complaint against a bank at Panjim Police Station for transferring funds from their Fixed Deposit (FD) to a third party without authorisation.
They said they learnt the FD was missing and inquired with the bank. The bank replied that the funds were inadvertently transferred to some other account and later encashed and that the bank was ready to pay the amount with interest.
The complainant has also questioned under whose instructions the transfer was carried out and why the bank is not disclosing the beneficiary.
The complainant stated that the bank has committed offences of fraud, forgery, criminal breach of trust and offence under money laundering act. Panjim Police are yet to file an FIR in this matter.
