Comunidade Awareness Fellowship to hold its fifth forum on February 24

PANJIM: The Comunidade Awareness Fellowship will organise its fifth forum to deliberate on the wider role of women in Comunidades at Casa do Povo hall, at Goa Velha, on February 24, at 5 pm sharp.

The role of women in Comunidade will be the main focus of discussion, as one of the resolutions of the convention of Comunidades under Article 652 of Code of Comunidades on January 14, 2024, resolved on more debates before arriving at any decision.

Five components of Comunidades have, so far, agreed to speak on the subject – two women and three men – whilst the final slot for women is still to be ascertained.

Dr Meenacshi Martins and Lourdes Bravo da Costa will be the two women, who had already confirmed their participation, whilst Savio Correia, Shailesh Henriques and Tome Carvalho will be the male representatives.

Michael Mendonca from Comunidade of Anjuna will thereafter explain the woes faced by members of the Comunidade and how they work together to keep the spirit that entwines Comunidades alive. Each speaker will speak for a maximum of ten minutes and members present will thereafter be invited for an interaction which will be moderated by author and journalist Alexandre Moniz Barbosa.

This is the fifth meeting. The first four meeting were held in Porvorim, Margao, Navelim, in Sanquelim and Moira where the structure of Comunidade was explained within a legal perspective.

Components of Comunidades from all over Goa are invited to attend and be part of the deliberations.
