PANJIM: The administration offices of the Comunidades Central Zone and the South Zone have announced the elections to the administrative board (managing committee) of various comunidades in the State.
The announcement of election dates comes at a time when some managing committees of comunidades as well as Curtorim Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco had appealed for an extension of the term of the managing committees on the grounds that the pandemic had caused major disruption and had not permitted them to carry out as much of work as they wanted to.
The newly-elected managing committees post the elections will enjoy a three-year term period.
