MAPUSA: North Goa District Congress Committee president Vijay Bhike on Sunday hit out at the government for selling government jobs, for manipulating written exams and leaving deserving candidates unemployed.
Bhike accused the BJP MLAs and the Chief Minister of selling government jobs in the State leaving deserving candidates aside.
“We demand that the government take swift action against those involved in employing outsiders including the ministers who are involved in the job scam,” he demanded.
“PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar has sold engineer posts and is involved in an alleged recruitment scam to the tune of Rs 70 crore. We will approach the Election Commission as well as the High Court to seek justice in this matter. Deserving candidates are frustrated with the high sum of bribes being demanded by BJP MLAs, including the Chief Minister’s office,” Bhike alleged.
“The government is committed to selling jobs and compromising with the future of Goan youth. Narendra Modi government promised 1 crore jobs every year during election campaign but the unemployment rate in the country is reaching an all-time high”, he added.
Recalling to the revelation made by chief minister six months ago stating that 5,000 people from outside Goa are employed with various companies in the State, he said Congress intends to take up this issue and seek justice for the deserving youth from the State.
“CM’s latest initiative of ‘Sarkar Tumchya Dari’ to every household of Goa is nothing but a gimmick. Time and again this government keeps announcing the creation of 10,000 govt jobs. They keep giving new dates to start the recruitment process to fill 10,000 vacant government posts while keeping the moratorium on new recruitment and tendering for new developmental projects,” said Bhike.
