PANJIM: Congress party kick started the process for holding organisational elections, including that to elect the new State president, by publishing the party’s electoral roll.
Assistant returning officer Pankaj Punia said the party’s electoral roll was published on September 12. The elections for block, district and State level would take place from September 20 to October 15.
While Punj has been appointed as the Pradesh returning officer, Vinayak Deshmukh is the returning officer for North District and Rohit Joshi is block returning officer. The publication of the electoral roll was delayed due to the by-elections in Panjim and Valpoi constituencies, last month.
As per the schedule the election to appoint the booth level committees will take place in the first phase, followed by district committee and Pradesh committee that will include election for post of party President.
Following election of Pradesh congress committee, the AICC elections will take place.
