Corporator Damu Karapurkar was on Wednesday arrested and bailed out in a public property destruction case, Inspector Sandesh Chodankar said.
His arrest was followed by a complaint by the Commissioner of the Corporation of City of Panaji Elvis Gomes that some men destroyed two shops in the new market complex, over a week ago.
A bailable offense under section 3 of Damages to Public Property Act was later registered.
Two others were earlier arrested and bailed out on paying personal bond of Rs 5000 with a like surety amount.
