PANJIM: The Cottonfab-2014 expo featuring some exquisite handspun traditional Cotton & Silks fabrics from across the country is currently underway at Parade Ground, Campal, Panjim. The expo will be open till February 23 between 10.30 am and 9 pm. With fabrics and handlooms designs from 15 States, the exhibition aims at showcasing traditional and ethnic attire from across the country. Several stalls will display silks and cottons from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur, Delhi, Haryana and others. Each stall has its own special handloom woven fabrics and prints such as Kota silk, Lucknow Chikankari, Banaras silk, woolen shawls, Silk sarees, traditional block prints, Kantha, Tant, Bandhej, Ethnic print, Kalamkari, Mangalgiri, Madurai silk, Cotton saris, Belgaum, Hubli saris, Chanderi, Maheshwari, Sambhalpuri Ikkat, Mooga Silk, Kosa, Ghiccha, Chikan embroidery and handloom products. Bed covers, bed sheets, sofa covers and jewellery are also on sale at the exhibition.
