MARGAO: Councillor Mahesh Amonkar has spent thousands of rupees from his own pocket to repair the damaged concrete benches around the Margao Municipal garden, as the civic body failed to do so.
On Wednesday Amonkar managed to engage a few labourers and required materials in order to repair the benches damaged by unknown vehicles. The damaged benches were curving for attention for the last many days.
Speaking to the media persons, Mahesh said that being a councillor it was a shame to see the damaged concrete benches of the municipal garden for the last many days.
“I had brought this to the notice of MMC Chairperson Lyndon Pereira, but he failed to repair the same”, he stated.
