India has strongly condemned Pakistan over alleged airstrikes on a hospital in Kabul, calling the incident a “barbaric” and “cowardly” act. The reaction comes after Afghanistan’s Taliban-led administration accused Pakistan of targeting the Omid Addiction Treatment Hospital, claiming the strike killed at least 400 people and injured around 250 others late Monday night.
In an official statement, India’s Ministry of External Affairs described the attack as an “unconscionable act of violence” that cannot be justified under any circumstances, especially as the target was a civilian medical facility. New Delhi further accused Islamabad of attempting to portray a massacre as a legitimate military operation and termed the strike a “heinous act of aggression” that violates Afghanistan’s sovereignty and threatens regional peace.

India also criticised the timing of the attack, noting it occurred during the holy month of Ramzan, making it “all the more reprehensible.” It urged the international community to hold those responsible accountable and called for an immediate end to attacks on civilians.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has firmly denied the allegations, stating that its operations in eastern Afghanistan were precise and did not target civilian infrastructure. It dismissed Kabul’s claims as “false and misleading.”
Afghan officials said the strike caused massive destruction to the 2,000-bed hospital, with rescue teams continuing efforts to recover bodies from the rubble. The incident comes amid escalating border tensions between the two countries, marking one of the deadliest phases of conflict in recent years
