CANACONA: The electric poles in the Canacona taluka have been acting as a catalyst for the creepers to grow due to a lackadaisical approach and negligence of the concerned authorities. The locals alleged that this is one of the main reasons behind frequent power cuts.
An electricity pole at the slope, leading to Babre village is full of creepers and the locals question how the linesman cannot notice the same at the time of repairs.
Every year before the onset of monsoon, the Electricity Department cleans the electricity poles and cut down the creepers.
“How are the creepers on the poles? This is the best example of how unorganised Canacona’s Electricity Department is”, alleged one local.
