Crime Branch seizes drugs in 2 separate raids

PANJIM: Crime Branch apprehended a Mapusa resident for possessing cocaine and MDMA worth Rs 75,000.

Malik Sayed, 28, resident of Ekta Nagar Mapusa was apprehended by Crime Branch near Dolphin Circle in a raid conducted on Tuesday.

He was found in possession of 4.18 grams of Cocaine and MDMA weighing 2.50 g, all valued at approximately Rs 75,000. The accused has been placed under arrest and has been booked under NDPS act. Further investigation of the case is in progress with Police Inspector Laxi Amonkar. 

Meanwhile, Crime Branch arrested a Canacona resident for possessing drugs worth almost Rs 11.45 lakh. Benedito Fernandes from Poinguinim, Canacona, 51 was arrested by Crime Branch on Tuesday.

He was found in possession of greenish colour flowering and fruiting tops of a plant suspected to be narcotic drugs Ganja weighing 5.452 kg, blackish colour oily substance suspected to be Hashish Oil weighing 636 g and cash of Rs 2000 in various denominations, along with other articles.
