BICHOLIM: Hundreds of people from in and around Bicholim witnessed the annual Shigmo float parade at Bicholim on Monday evening.
The float parade, which was organised by Bicholim Shigmotsav Samiti, commenced from Bordem at about 7 pm and converged at Shivaji Maharaj Maidan, Bicholim.
Several floats depicting mythology in addition to romtamels and folk dance troupes participated in the parade, while several traditional dances including Godemodni, Chapai, etc, were also included in the procession. The Shigmo procession received good response with the streets filled with people on either side of the parade route.
This year there was a slight change in the route even as the parade got over late at night.
On Sunday, several cultural programmes were organised at Shivaji Maharaj Maidan. DySP Gajanan Prabhudesai, Bicholim PI Rupendra Shetgaonkar and officers from others talukas maintained law and order.
