MARGAO: The Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardesai has said the new CRZ Master Plan prepared for Salcete is going to make Salcete and Goa developmentally important. A presentation was made at the Secretariat after the NGT had asked to notify the plan. It was decided not to do it at the present juncture.
The Town and Country Planning Minister revealed that if the plan which was presently been prepared was notified then neither the Goa Government nor the centre would have been able to make any change for the next five years.
“1% intensity has gone to 100% in the CRZ Master Plan from the Regional Plan. It has not been done with proper study. The feedbacks and studies provided by Goan officials has not been incorporated in the plan” alleged Vijai.
“All Saxtti coast towns and census towns to the tune of 27 kms were proposed to be made CRZ 1 which is disastrous. TCP has shown 5 cases with Google photos as to what the implications of the master plan will be, ” he said.
The Town and Country Planning Minister said the Government has decided to go to NGT and seek time of 6 months to make changes.
