PANJIM: The CSIR-NIO will train Bangladesh institutes in ocean research capabilities and human resource as both are in process of linking memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the project.
The premier marine research institutes including Bangladesh Oceanic Research Institute (BORI) and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University have already initiated process to sign MoU with National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) on various aspects of ocean research and manpower building.
Speaking to media persons, CSIR-NIO’s Director Sunil Kumar Singh said that BORI and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University are in talks with them to sign an MOU in ocean research and development of ship based activities. “They want our assistance for that since, these institutes are very new in ocean research,” he said.
Singh said that the teams of the BORI already had a fortnight long training at NIO centre.
