PANJIM: The school and higher secondary students will have to wait to avail the benefits of cultural merit marks, as the Art and Culture Dept is yet to finalise the State Cultural Policy.
The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Chairman Ramakrishna Samant said the cultural merit marks could not be implemented this year, due to the non-finalisation of Cultural Policy.
“We have to wait and see when we can introduce the cultural marks. If the policy is finalised, we can implement it even from the coming academic year,” he said.
The allotment of cultural marks was conceptualised on the lines of Sports merit marks allotted to the students, which several students are benefiting from.
