MARGAO: The Curtorim BJP Mandal on Monday hinted that they are ready to support Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco as a candidate for the upcoming Assembly elections if joins the party.
“Why only Reginaldo, we are ready to support anyone which the party thinks right candidate for the upcoming Assembly elections in Curtorim,” said Bhavesh Zambaulikar, BJP Curtorim Constituency in-charge.
Briefing the media persons, here, Zambaulikar along with Mayur Kudchadkar, president Curtorim BJP Mandal; Anthony Barbosa, vice-President, Scheduled Tribes Morcha South Goa; Dr Sneha Bhagwat and others, Bhavesh said that the party is sure to win the upcoming Assembly elections in the Curtorim Constituency.
“Candidate will be decided by the party as per the procedure, and the name will be announced at the right time. We are 100 per cent sure that for the first time BJP candidate will win the election in Curtorim Constituency,” he stated.
When asked what if Reginaldo joins the BJP, who is the opposition, Bhavesh said that will support not only Reginaldo but whoever party decides as the right candidate.
Anthony welcomed the announcement of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant with regard to 16,000 litres of free water for each household from September.
“This will surely give relief to the people of Goa and more especially the Scheduled Tribes and other backward communities,” he stated.
He said that the BJP government under the leadership of Dr Pramod Sawant working hard for the betterment of the ST community. ST Bhavan at Porvorim, besides projects such as Tribal Museum and ST Research Centres, will surely help the community to move forward.
“These are the major schemes of the BJP government where the Congress failed to do,” said Anthony.
Dr Sneha Bhagwat said the party is working towards providing better health care services to the people of Goa.
“The appointment of booth-level volunteers is in process. We have already trained nearly 160 volunteers including 60 doctors with regard to providing health services,” she informed.
