MARGAO: Residents from Maina, Curtorim led by Curtorim Zilla Panchayat (ZP) member Michele Rebello, and former member Moreno Rebello met PWD officials to seek solutions to the water scarcity issue they have been facing for the last three months.
While PWD Executive Engineer V Bhende gave them an assurance to resolve the issue within a weeks’ time, he identified the fault with the construction of a culvert in the area. Responding to queries about the corrosion of an old water pipeline, Bhende informed the locals that the government had sanctioned the replacement of the water pipeline.
Moreno pointed out the irony of promotions of holiday homes in Goa when the locals don’t have access to basic necessities.
