Curtorim MLA to quit Congress, join AAP?

MARGAO: After Luizinho Faleiro now Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco is likely to quit Congress party and join Aam Admi Party in the coming days. This could be another shock to the Congress.  

Reacting to the news going around on Saturday, Reginaldo also did not refute the rumours but at the same time he said ‘will reply after two days’. 

As informed by the close sources, the Curtorim MLA, who was very much silent these days and is likely to take a decision to leave the Congress Party and join AAP. He is likely to be inducted into the AAP, on Monday. 

When contacted Reginaldo refused to comment but did not refute the rumours going around. 

“Will reply in the next two days,” he said.

According to the sources from AAP, there have been talks with Reginaldo since for the last many days. 

“We are open to everybody but it is now up to the Curtorim MLA to decide upon,” said AAP sources. 

It may be recalled that Reginaldo had first won the elections from Curtorim Constituency defeating Francisco Sardinha of the Save Goa Party. Thereafter, he joined Congress and won the elections twice. 

It is a known fact that he was very much upset with regard to the functioning of Congress in Goa. He was also demanding change in leadership but at the same time Reginaldo had also stated that being a sincere party leader will not leave the Congress. 

However, according to the close aides of MLA, he has made up his mind to join the AAP in coming days.  

While Central Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao said it is just a rumour.
