Curtorim MLA writes to Guv demanding one-day special Assembly session

Margao: In the view of recent spike in pandemic COVID-19 cases in Goa especially in Vasco’s Mangor Hill and the debilitating impact of the three-month-old lockdown on Goa’s economy, the Curtorim Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco has sought to know the strategy on the part of the State  to tackle the concerns of the citizens.

In a letter to the Governor, Reginaldo has requested that a one-day special Assembly session be convened to debate the State’s response to the aforementioned issues.

The MLA further demanded that the entire jurisdiction of the Mormugao Municipality be declared as a containment zone in view of the violations of the MHA guidelines on handling containment zones.

He also questioned why there was abrupt stoppage of testing at Mangor. “CM’s statement last week that every single person at Mangor Hill would be tested within 4-5 days is in contradiction to the move to stop testing” said Reginaldo.

The MLA also wanted to know what was the inquiry and action taken with respect to the person from Mangor who spread the infection as well as the Calangute lady who skipped testing at the border.
