Cyber cell to contact Facebook to trace Mickky

PANJIM: The Cyber Crime Cell will contact the social networking site Facebook seeking the IP address of the Facebook account of absconding former RDA minister Francisco (Mickky) Pacheco, after his profile photograph was changed on Friday.

“The cyber unit will write to the Facebook management seeking the IP address besides other details that could help trace Mickky. Getting information may take time since its head office is not located in India, but we will request it to provide us information as soon as possible,” DIG K K Vyas said.
The photo that shows a smiling Pacheco wearing a black casual shirt with a smart phone was doing the rounds on Friday. “We do not know whether he has updated the profile photo or someone else has done it. There is a possibility that he has shared his Facebook password with his close ones. All this will be probed,” another cyber cell officer told Herald.
Pacheco has been absconding for nearly a month and half with speculation that he will surrender anytime soon. The Supreme Court had upheld the High Court’s order sentencing Pacheco to six months jail for assaulting a junior electricity engineer in 2006. His revision plea, in addition to another plea seeking time to surrender, was also rejected by the apex court.
A team of Goa police is camping in Delhi even as the department has been making futile attempts to trace the MLA’s whereabouts.
