Damu in dark over fate of Phase II of Ravindra Bhavan

It's over a year now and Ravindra Bhavan's Phase II comprising of a multi-storey project is lying incomplete.

MARGAO: It’s over a year now and Ravindra Bhavan’s Phase II comprising of a multi-storey project is lying incomplete. Work on the project was taken up by the PWD and the structure has not been handed over to the Ravindra Bhavan till date.

Chairman Damu Naik said the issue was discussed at the Ravindra Bhavan general council with members calling for the early completion of the project. “The building can be utilised to conduct dance and music classes. Some city-based institutions have evinced interest in opening these classes. We have even received proposals from some institutions,” he said.

Replying to a question, Damu feigned ignorance as to why the building remains incomplete till date saying that Ravindra Bhavan has only adopted a resolution to utilise some rooms of the building to conduct music and dance classes after obtaining approval from the department of Art and Culture.
