MARGAO: Local residents gathered in large numbers on Sunday morning to hold a protest at the Power House Davorlim circle near Aquem where they flayed the authorities for failing to take measures to curb the number of accidents that have taken place at this junction.
While they demanded for traffic signals to be installed at this circle, they also explained how this junction is a key route for traffic traveling in various directions and how the situation is extremely risky for commuters as well as pedestrians during peak hours or at night/early morning when there is poor illumination.

They also recalled how they had pleaded with the authorities in the past and even followed up on the matter personally but till date this issue has not been resolved.
Some residents warned that if there is another accident, particularly involving a local resident, they would hold a stronger protest on the road. They questioned if the authorities value the loss of life and lamented that those who have met with accidents, are suffering for life.
