PANJIM: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Service has warned the dairy cooperatives that if they do not submit their bills before March 8, they would not receive their 40 per cent subsidy.
In a communication, the department has warned that despite several reminders the cooperatives have not submitted bills and failure to do so will result in denial of subsidy.
“The Milk Incentive bills for the period from April 2012 to June 2012 and from July 2012 to December 2012 were sent to Dairy Societies for certifying and submitting to this Department for payment. However, it is noticed that inspite of our efforts requesting to submit the bills in time for prompt payment, several dairy societies are yet to submit the certified bills to this Department, thus delaying the process of payment in incentive on Milk and Feed assured by the Government,” the statement reads.
“The Directorate of Accounts will accept the bill latest by March 8, 2013. In view of the above it is once again requested that the dairy societies should necessarily submit Milk Incentive bills to this Department urgently by 05th March 2013, failing which the dairy farmers may not get the milk and feed Incentive for the relevant period,” the communication said.
The department of Animal Husbandry implements a scheme providing incentive to milk producers wherein a dairy farmer supplying milk to the dairy society gets a 40% composite subsidy. Of this 40%, 32.28% is paid as incentive on milk and 7.72% is paid as incentive on cattle feed.
This composite subsidy is paid to dairy farmer through the bank account of the beneficiary through Electronic Clearance System (ECS) for which the dairy farmers are required to submit their bank details through prescribed mandate form.
