CANACONA: Kamal Kumar, a resident of Bihar, accused in the abduction and rape of a minor Delhi girl in December was caught by Canacona police from Mudkud a village in Canacona on Thursday.
Disclosing the details of the arrest, PI Sudesh Narvekar said that the Kumar was wanted in connection with abduction and rape of a 16-year-old Delhi girl that he allegedly committed in December last year.
A case stands registered against the accused at Neb Sarai, South Delhi police station under Sections 376 and 366A of IPC and Section 6 of POSCO Act for forceful kidnap and rape of a minor girl.
Sources revealed that the phone calls of the accused were traced by the Delhi police from a tower in the vicinity of Agonda.
Delhi police than shared the inputs and photo of the accused with their Canacona counterparts who upon search found him at Mudkud in Agonda disguised as a carpenter. Sources said that a team from Delhi police have already reached Canacona and after producing the accused before a local court would be handed over to them.
