CURCHOREM: “Be a master of your unspoken words and do not be slave of spoken words is my advice to the chief minister,” said Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco addressing hundreds of people from Curchorem constituency during a Congress public meeting held near the railway station.
Reginaldo was reacting to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s statement, few days ago, that there is no liar like MGP leader and former PWD minister Sudin Dhavalikar.
When Sudin did not field his party’s candidate for Lok Sabha election, Sawant called him a matured politician, but when he supported Congress the chief minister said there is no liar like Sudin,” Reginaldo said and opined that “Such statements do not suit the chief minister.”
Criticising the BJP for “openly encouraging defection and importing MLAs from other parties,” Reginaldo questioned the chief minister whether the BJP lacks leaders worthy of contesting elections.
He advised the BJP leaders to tell the people what they have done for the last seven years instead of speaking only about the Congress party. “If Congress leaders were corrupt, why you did not act for the last seven years against them? Are you also involved in the corruption and that’s why you did not act or it is lie you are talking?” Reginaldo asked and said that for the last seven years BJP could not prove a single corruption case against any Congress leader.
South Goa Congress candidate Francisco Sardinha said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed on all fronts. “Instead of creating new jobs for youth, thousands of jobs are lost due to faulty decision of demonetization and implementation of GST without studying,” Sardinha said.
Coming down strongly on incumbent MPs, Sardinha said that all the three failed to raise issues concerning Goa and Goans in the parliament including Mining, river nationalsation and CRZ. “All the three MPs could not even take appointment with prime minister when mining people wanted to meet him and what the Goans can expect from them?” Sardinha said and urged the voters to be united and give him an opportunity to be their voice and raise their grievances.
