PANJIM: Junior Engineer of the Electricity Department, Vishwanath Bhat, has still not responded to summons for interrogation after an offence was registered against him for demanding and accepting a bribe to provide an electricity connection.
ACB officials said that three summons have been issued to Bhat to be present for questioning but two reached Bhat after the mentioned time, and he did not appear.
The third summon asked Bhat to be present at ACB office Panjim at 4pm on Saturday (June 10) but again he did not turn up. The officials said further summons will be issued.
ACB on Thursday booked Bhat attached with the Cortalim station for demanding and accepting bribe to issue III-phase electricity connection. ACB’s action followed a video sting, which went viral on social media exposing Bhat while accepting a bribe of Rs 2000.
