PANJIM: Tiatr ‘Deva Amkam Nivllai’ staged by Dramatic Troupe of Ribandar, Ribandar bagged the first prize of Rs 1,00,000 at the Tiatr Competition ‘A’ Group organized by Kala Academy.
Around 14 institutions participated in the competition and the judges included Pradeep Vernekar, Agostinho Da Cruz and Joe Rose.
Tiatr ‘Hanv Jikhlom’ presented by Machi Mogi Morjim Cultural Sanskrutic Saunstha, Morjim and tiatr ‘Postman Dias’ by Alfi Art Productions, Divar won second prize of Rs 75,000 and third prize of Rs 50,000, respectively. The consolation prize was awarded to tiatr ‘Disha’ staged by Merxechim Porzolith Kirnam, Merces.
Other individual prizes are as follow: Best acting (male category): Casiano D’Souza (first prize), Frazer Fernandes (second prize); Best acting (female category): Semenca Rebelo (first prize) and Godreena Braganza (second prize).
Best comedian (male) Alexin John Fernandes and best comedian (female) Sanjavi Kerkar. Best child artiste (male) Frenwin Fernandes and best child artiste (female) Janice Fernandes.
Best direction J L Diogo Fernandes (first prize), John Alexandro (Alexin) Fernandes (second prize), Alfredo Fernandes (third prize).
Best stage set up Austin S Rodrigues, best light effect Nilesh Mahale. Best music band award Selwyn Braganza, Theodore Alvares, Bernabe A Fernandes, Joao Fernandes and James Vaz. Best make-up Sadanand Gaude, best costume M Apolina Dias. Best background music Lenoy Gomendes.
