PANJIM: Directorate of Information & Publicity has taken suo motu cognisance of a report on unused ambulances in Sattari, published in Herald and sought “comments/rejoinder” from the Directorate of Health Services (DHS).
A notice issued to the Directorate of Health Services on Monday seeks a reply within 24 hours to be submitted to the Media Monitoring Cell. “You are hereby requested to send your comments/rejoinder to this Department for publishing in the said newspaper within 24 hours by a special messenger (hand delivery) and should be submitted to the Media Monitoring Cell,” Information Officer (Publicity) John Aguiar said in a letter to the Directorate of Health Services Director.
Herald’s Citizen Herald page had highlighted the neglected ambulances, which were donated using MPLAD funds by Congress leader Ravi Naik during his tenure as the MP of Lok Sabha. Some of the ambulances are not in use and are collecting rust in front of the Poriem panchayat.
