PANJIM: All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and Goa desk in charge Digvijay Singh will visit Goa on May 18 to review the organizational set up of the State Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) and decide on strategies for the 2017 elections.
Singh will also lead a mashal yatra in the capital, exposing the anti-people policies, scams and failures of the BJP-led government.
Sources confirmed Singh’s visit and said a special executive committee meeting is scheduled to take stock of the organizational set up of the party, considering that party president Luizinho Faleiro has recently revived the block committees. “As the 2017 elections are approaching, strategies in this regards would also be worked out,” sources said.
“The mashal yatra will conclude at Azad Maidan. We will expose several misdeeds of the BJP government. Their failures on the part of mining, casinos, regional plan, special status and anti-people polices like declassification of coconut, investment promotion board, etc would be highlighted,” sources said.
Singh had last visited Goa on February 18 and had evaluated the performance of the leaders ahead of the elections.
