MARGAO: Disaster management, security, health and sanitation were the key issues that were deliberated upon at the Cavelossim gram sabha on Sunday
Sarpanch Dixon Vas passed the budget for the financial year 2024-25, in the presence of gram sabha members.
It is pertinent to note that Cavelossim being a coastal panchayat regularly witnessed stressing on major issues like disaster management and sanitation, besides health and security.
Roy Barreto highlighted the CRZ issue which the panchayat body previously raised with the government to safeguard the people living along the coast.
Villagers also raised the issueac with regards to the blue flag in which the Sarpanch informed that no such proposal had come to the panchayat.
When villagers raised the issue of garbage nuisance created by the people living in rented premises, the Sarpanch said that he would conduct a ward wise awareness with help of each ward member.
He also highlighted the development works taken by the panchayat in the last year .
Gramsabha member Prince Pereira and others thanked the Sarpanch and panch members for keeping hawkers at bay at the Cavelossim beach hawkers and putting an end to the nuisance along the coast.
