VASCO: Due to the water clogging and to avoid further flooding, the work on the drainage system near Cortalim Church was launched on Wednesday.
At the launch, Cortalim MLA Alina Saldhana informed that the drainage work will start from near Cortalim Church to Chauder.
“This existing drainage system is in dilapidated condition and due to this the people at the stretch were having a tough time during monsoons. People have faced problems due to overflowing of drains, water logging and the pedestrians were having difficulty to walk due to this,” she said.
“The cost of this work is Rs 66 lakh. The repairs of the road next to this drainage will be taken up after the monsoon season,” she added.
