MARGAO: Munawar Pasha, aged 47, a driver from Shimoga Karnataka, who had decamped with Rs 17.5 lakh cash after stealing it from his employer, was arrested by Colva police on Saturday from Belagavi.
Colva police team upon information, rushed to Belagavi to bring him back to Colva police station, where offence for committing theft has been registered against him.
Pasha’s employer, 59-year-old resident of Shimoga, had come to Goa with him to distribute the invitation of his son weeding. He was robbed off cash amounting to Rs 17.5 lakh on Saturday when he and his son had gone to invite one of the guests.
Colva police registered offence under section 381 of IPC.
