MARGAO: Even as the Cuncolim police have registered an offence against an unknown person for driving his car in rash and negligent manner and causing the death of 42-year-old woman from Varca, the accused continues to be at large.
It may recalled that the Cuncolim Police had lodged a complaint on behalf of State that a driver of a silver colour SUV drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner at Dandewado Junction, Chinchinim – Salcete, knocked down a woman scooterist, banged into an electric pole and fled from the spot abandoning his vehicle. The seriously injured victim Albina was shifted to the South Goa District Hospital, Margao where she was declared dead.
Cuncolim police registered an offence against the car driver under section 279, 304(A) of IPC and section 134(a)(b) of MV Act. PSI Suhas Velip is investigating the case.
