Two persons were injured while two cricketers had a lucky escape in two separate mishaps at Porvorim and Dabolim on New Year’s Day.
PORVORIM CORRESPONDENT ADDS: Two motorcycle riders were injured in a mishap near the Mandovi Bridge on Saturday morning.
According to Porvorim police, Sushant Pal was proceeding towards Panjim on his motorcycle (GA-03-J-8419). When he reached near the Mandovi Bridge, a motorcycle rider, Dhansing Rajput, who was also proceeding towards Panjim on his motorcycle (GA-07-D-0763) collided with the vehicle of Sushant Pal.
Both riders sustained injuries and were admitted to Goa Medical College Hospital at Bambolim for treatment. Constable Vithu Subhedar is investigating the case.
VASCO REPORTER ADDS: Two cricketers miraculously escaped unhurt in a road mishap near the MES college junction at Dabolim early Saturday morning.
Speaking to Herald, Sher Bahadur Yadav said he along with Hemant Shetgaokar, a cricketer with Sarvodaya Royals Sanguem in the present Goa Premier League (GPL), were driving in a Hyundai Santro car (GA-06-D-0723) towards Vasco.
Yadav is a prominent cricketer with the Al-Fatha team, after he was snapped by PVG Warrior Margao for a staggering Rs 4.25 lakh. He is also a player in the ongoing GPL.
“One tyre burst and the car went out of control and rammed into a roadside fender. We were lucky to have escaped unhurt. However, I am fit to play in the semi-final tomorrow against Macvek,” said Yadav.
