PANJIM: Tiswadi Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Bhagwant Karmali has convened a meeting of stakeholders to discuss about the encroachment in government property in front of the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Bambolim, at 12 noon on Friday, March 1.
The panchayat secretaries of Curca-Bambolim-Talaulim and Santa Cruz village panchayats have been asked to attend the meeting, personally or to depute their representative without fail.
The meeting assumes importance in the backdrop of GMC Super-Speciality Block nodal officer Dr Uday Kakodkar issuing a note warning people from eating from kiosks situated outside Super-specialty Block at Bambolim. The note on health warning was subsequently withdrawn.
In the February 17 health advisory note, the nodal officer had cautioned offices/casualty/against unhygienic eatables.
pharmacy of Super-Specialty Block, stating that local gaddas/shops/canteens/existing on the street in front of Super-Specialty Block and Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) were utilising water from the outdoor garden faucets which itself as STP/waste water from SSB hospital which is not safe for drinking purposes and for cooking food.
The nodal officer had asked them to be careful while visiting and having food from these street vendors as it can have certain bacteria or a mixture of different chemicals, unhygienic to some extent.
