MARGAO: From the 2,400 applicants, 62 candidates have cleared the latest screening test for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP).
This is part of the direct recruitment for the position of DySP that is happening for the first time in 25 years.

On Monday, the Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) Chairman Jose Manuel Noronha informed media persons about the outcome of the screening test for filling the position of DySP that was held on Sunday, November 26.
“93 candidates answered and 62 were declared successful in their respective categories. The Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) comprised a 75-mark multiple choice paper which had a 90 minute duration and examined topics like English, Human Rights, Polity, History, Geography, Logical reasoning etc,” said Noronha.
It may be recalled that 2,400 candidates had applied for 28 posts and while around 1,850 answered the pre-screening test only 93 candidates had made it to the next round, which was the screening test held on Sunday.
“All these (final) 62 candidates will now have to pass the fitness test which includes running 100 metres, 800 metres besides high jump, long jump and shot-put throw. The candidates also have to meet the minimum physical standards which are different for male and female candidates. The Commission will be conducting the physical tests shortly and the written test examination thereafter,” said Noronha.
“It is hoped that the entire process will be completed by mid-January within a record time of around 5 months,” he added.
