ED likely to summon Digambar for questioning

PANJIM: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is likely to summon former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat after huge seizures during raids at his and his relatives’ residences and offices, on Thursday.

PANJIM: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is likely to summon former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat after huge seizures during raids at his and his relatives’ residences and offices, on Thursday. 
On the second day of its search on Friday, ED officials seized Rs 8.43 lakh approximately from the three lockers of Kamat’s brother-in-law Gourish Lawande. This includes foreign currency seized on Thursday. There was some foreign currency too. 
Kamat’s Margao residence, Lawande’s bungalow at Campal and his office in Panjim were jointly raided by Crime Branch and ED. The house of Narhar Thakur, who is the father-in-law of Kamat’s son was also searched by CB sleuths.
Documents of properties worth over Rs 100 core were seized besides foreign currency. The raid came a couple of days after ED registered a money laundering case in connection with the Louis Berger bribery case. 
Meanwhile, Kamat and Thakur are likely to be called for questioning by ED next week. Lawande, who faced interrogation at the time of the raid could be summoned again.
