PANJIM: Following Herald report Thursday, the education department on Friday reacted by allaying fears and doubts raised on the implementation of the MoI policy keeping in mind students of class IX and X.
While the education department and Goa Board said that implications involved would be taken care of as reported by herald Thursday, the education department reiterated the same saying that the policy would be implemented in phases and various factors and issues (which had missed their attention) would be considered and addressed.
The scheme for implementing the policy will be announced shortly, an official from the education department said here on Friday.
The education department on Friday also allayed fears of the parent community over the implementation of the MoI policy from June 2014. The department said that the government has announced the policy on the medium of instruction which will govern the education pattern henceforth. The department also reiterated that all issues will be dealt with and that students should also have no problem coping with Devanagri script as currently all students affiliated to the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education who are using the Devanagri script for the second language which is Hindi.
It has also pointed out that Hindi was not being sidelined in favour of the official language as schools affiliated to
national boards like CBSE or ICSE offer Hindi as an
optional language.
