Education dept issues show cause notices to 212 schools

PANJIM: The Education Department has issued show cause notices to 159 aided high schools and higher secondary schools and 53 government-run middle, high and higher secondary schools for failing to cooperate with the department over flagship schemes initiated by the Centre. 
The notices issued to the respective heads of the schools seek reply within seven days failing which Director of Education Vandana Rao has warned of action. 
“As per meeting notice…dated December 17, 2019 you were asked to be present in a joint meeting with Director (SCERT), SPD (GSSA), ADE (Adult Education) and Director of Education , Government of Goa on December 18, 2019. The meeting was called for discussing a number of flagship programmes of Govt. of India. In spite of being issued the meeting notice, you failed to attend the same,” reads the show cause notice by Rao on Thursday. 
“Now, therefore you are hereby called to show cause for your willful absence within seven days of receipt of this notice, failing which action as deemed fit shall be taken against you,” the notice further reads.
