MAPUSA: Electrical scrap was gutted in a fire reported near Aldona Primary Health Centre (PHC) on Thursday.
It is learnt that the dry grass caught fire which further spread and destroyed the scrap of the Electricity Department.
According to Mapusa Fire Station, the control room received a call at around 1.40 pm informing them about the fire incident. A team of Mapusa fire station team led by sub officer Ashok Naik along with firefighters rushed to the spot and began to douse the fire.
Since the grass was completely dry, the fire spread and destroyed the scrap of the Electricity Department at Gawar.
The fire personnel managed to douse the fire and saved remaining material. The loss is estimated to be Rs 30,000.
