Minister for Employment Atanasio Monserrate said that the government is in process to discontinue mandatory criteria of employment card for the purpose of government jobs. He said that the department has initiated a process to discontinue registering an employment card, which is currently a mandatory document for applying for government jobs.
He further said that the Labour Department is in process of creating a system to collect the data of all migrant and unorganised workers and it would be operational within a short span of time.
The Minister said that the file pertaining to the revision of minimum wages is sent to the Law Department for vetting and once it is done the same would be notified.
